Swiss candy
Switzerland is world-famous for its confectionery, particularly its high-quality chocolate, which is a source of national pride. The Swiss perfected milk chocolate, and today, their chocolate is celebrated for its creamy texture and fine ingredients. Iconic brands like Lindt, Toblerone, and Cailler are known globally. Toblerone, with its distinct triangular shape and honey-almond nougat, is instantly recognizable, while Lindt is celebrated for its smooth-melting truffles and bars.
Beyond chocolate, Switzerland has a variety of other sweet treats. The Basler Läckerli are a traditional, spiced gingerbread-like biscuit from Basel. Another classic is the Bündner Nusstorte, a rich walnut tart from the Graubünden region. Other favorites include Kägi Fret, a crispy chocolate-covered wafer, and the delicious Kambly biscuits.
