Heidi
Heidi is a European chocolate brand with a history rooted in Swiss expertise and a charming, nature-inspired philosophy.
The brand was founded in 1994 by a Swiss chocolatier who wanted to share the secret of creating quality chocolate. The name "Heidi" was inspired by the fictional character from Johanna Spyri's 1880 novel, reflecting the brand's values of positivity, purity, and a love for nature.
Heidi quickly gained recognition for its innovative and visually appealing chocolate products, including its first chocolate tablets in 1996 and its signature pralines a year later. A key moment in the brand's history was the introduction of its best-selling thin and smooth 85% dark chocolate recipe in 2002.
Since 2013, Heidi has been part of the KEX Confectionery Group, an indirect subsidiary of the Austrian Meinl-Gruppe. This has allowed for significant expansion. The company has grown its presence in Germany and beyond through strategic acquisitions, including the well-known German confectioner Schwermer Dietrich Stiel in 2017. Today, Heidi's products are sold in more than 50 countries, and the brand continues to emphasize high-quality, natural ingredients and the art of artisanal craftsmanship.
